No modern name has influence more the political philosophy of the right than that of Ronald Reagan. However, behind every great man there is a great woman and Reagan found that in Nancy.
In Nancy Reagan: The Unauthorized Biography by Kitty Kelley, Kelley takes the reader into a in depth examination of one of American's most controversial first ladies. A woman who dedicated her life to her love Ronald Reagan while bringing Hollywood glamour to the White House after years of the Malaise Carter Presidency.
In a chronological path, Kelley leaves no gossip quip unnoticed as she writes of the dynamics of what makes Nancy tic.
Out of all the Reagan books that I have examine, this book does cover new ground on this political couple before they entered politics. The loves, the highs and lows of the early days of the Reagan power couple. It does a masterful job of humanizing the turbulent lives of these public figures.
The political highs and lows coupled with the complex family dynamic that even kept the children at bay, protecting the bond between Ronnie and Nancy.
Nancy Reagan: The Unauthorized Biography by Kitty Kelley is a fascinating read that takes you behind the veil of one of American's most successful political couple.

This infamous look at the former First Lady spent 12 weeks on PW 's hardcover bestseller list and inspired George Carpozi Jr.'s scathing Poison Pen: The Unauthorized Biography of Kitty Kelley. More than 800,000 hardcovers are in print. (Mar.)
