Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Chase, the capable co-author of The Silver Palate Good Times Cookbook and owner of a successful restaurant and fine food shop on Nantucket, likes bright sunny flavors and foods served cold or at room temperature. And, yes, fresh seasonal ingredients. Her cuisine is imaginative: orange rosemary muffins with sliced duck breast and smoked bluefish pate. It's a la minute: Tahitian vanilla nuts and cornmeal blinis with three caviars. From appetizers through desserts, her recipes are inviting and often easy to prepare. An attractive, useful cookbook. For wide purchase. SP

One of my favorite cook books

I have at least 50 cookbooks on the shelf, many collecting dust - but not this one. All of the recipes are delicious. However, even after over ten years, I still feel the chapter on the 'Nantucket Farm Vegetables' really excels! (Please note, this is despite the fact there are no vegetable lovers in my home!) I have made the 'stuffed summer tomatoe' recipe for years and always received rave reviews. Whether company is coming or I am preparing a simple dinner for two, I can always find inspiration for a tasty sidedish. This is also one of the few cookbooks where I use the recipes as printed. They are so good the way they are, they don't need improvement.

    We love the unique dishes...

We have owned this book for probablly 4-5 yrs.. we have often given it as a gift to our friends who rave about our cooking. We like to personalize the book by writing in it our favorite of the recipes. The Filet w/ red wine vinegar & Herb de provence is excellent as well as the Jerry's chicken curry. These are just two of the dishes that are now among our staples.
