Meet the Author

Author/artist Masashi Kishimoto was born in 1974 in rural Okayama Prefecture, Japan. After spending time in art college, he won the Hop Step Award for new manga artists with his manga Karakuri ("Mechanism"). Kishimoto decided to base his next story on traditional Japanese culture. His first version of Naruto, drawn in 1997, was a one-shot story about fox spirits; his final version, which debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999, quickly became the most popular ninja manga in Japan.

    awsome book very excellent series

    I love the story, it always keeps me on the edge! I highly recommend it to all new Naruto readers!!

    It's the Sai and Sasuke Arc of the Manga!

    Its worth reading and buying. Its filled with comedy as Naruto tries to get along with a new teammate named Sai and a new captain of team seven named Yamoto. Plus, Naruto and Sakura are now getting closer to finding Sasuke and hope to bring him back. But can they really bring him back, or will there be something in their way in achieving their goal?! Find out in this awesome volume of Naruto!
