Meet the Author

Author/artist Masashi Kishimoto was born in 1974 in rural Okayama Prefecture, Japan. After spending time in art college, he won the Hop Step Award for new manga artists with his manga Karakuri ("Mechanism"). Kishimoto decided to base his next story on traditional Japanese culture. His first version of Naruto, drawn in 1997, was a one-shot story about fox spirits; his final version, which debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999, quickly became the most popular ninja manga in Japan.

    more from this reviewer

    I Also Recommend:

    Okay

This one was okay. Sad but okay. But near the end it got better because we meet the other characters. And to be honest, in my opinion, the series picks up when we meet the other characters.

    This is an awesome manga

I thought this was a great manga. I loved Haku and i felt bad for him. I would have loved him a lot. I would have wanted him to be happy and i would have loved him. I cried when i thought Sasuke died (He is so hot) and i felt so bad for Sakura. I also just LOVED Inari. He was so adorable and cute and i loved him almost as much as i loved Haku.

This is the best! Sakura is super hot!!!

This volumne is the best yet! It's so sad when Haku dies because of Kakashi. I hate Sasuke because Sakura likes him. I think Sakura is so cute and super pretty and I love her. And, I think it's sad about the ending, which will shock you so much!!! I cried all my tears out because of this volume. It is a must read for all fans.

    I shed so much tears!

I loved this book. The bittersweet tale of what happened to Haku and Zabuza. I creid all night when I read it. NAruto is much more then it looks. It looks just like a story about some ninjas....but it is so developed. And so wonderful.

This is one of My favorite Volumes! Sasuke Rocks!

Oh my god! This was the volume (so far) with the best mixture of action, love, and drama/sadness My favorite part is when Saskura finds Sasuke 'Dead'. When that happened I was like 'Sakura I feel so bad!'. Sasukes my favorite so I knda felt the same pain. Then she hugged him...that was kinda funny!Sasuke wakes up'Saskura your hurting Me.' Same old Sasuke!

    The Seal is Broken

First I would like to say that I am a total naruto fanatic. I have downloaded and watch all the japanese episodes of it (with subtitles) and read the manga. In this book, Naruto turns into his demon fox side when Haku kills Sasuke. He punches Haku (who's jutsu breaks) and his mask cracks and falls off his face. Naruto was about to punch him again but he reconized Haku from before. But Haku makes him mad again so he punches him again. When Naruto asked him why he is with Zabuza (whom his and Kakashi's fight is also going on) Haku explains his sad life and how Zabuza helped him. Later on, Haku dies when trying to defend Zabuza and Zabuza also dies. Also the Chuunin Exams begin toward the ending of this book. Read the manga for more info.
