Children's Literature - Julia BeikerNASA, or the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, regulates everything from space travel to orbiting satellites to training astronauts. The main office runs out of Washington D.C while they design new spacecraft in Ohio and launch it in Florida. This agency may some day even provide transportation to Mars for some lucky astronaut. Vivid photographs with captions and easy reading text add another dimension to this outstanding science book. The book also divides into smaller chapters to prepare young readers into the beginning stages of doing research for science papers and how to utilize the table of contents at the start and the index at the end. Unfortunately, the book does not bold-face vocabulary words or give an immediate definition on the page,so the reader has to stop and look up the possible unknown words before continuing to read. Vocabulary words including probe and satellite can be found in the back. This book is part of the "Exploring Science" series. Reviewer: Julia Beiker
