This is the third book of Delores's series The Lawmen of Silver Creek about brothers who serve to protect the people of Silver Creek. You do not need to have read the previous books to understand what is going on in this one but you should read them because they are all excellent stories and they do appear in each others books.
This is another one of those "can't put it down until the end" books that Delores is so good at writing.
The hero Nate Ryland and Darcy Burkhart have known each other for most of their lives but they don't exactly get along with each other because of things that have happened in the past but suddenly they find themselves depending on each other as they fight to find out who kidnapped their babies and an aide at the preschool the children were taken from. As they search for the kidnappers things get heated between the two of them as they each had to work together to find the kidnappers. Because of their backgrounds with each other this is not easy and at times they play the blame game before realizing that has to stop and they have to plan together what moves they will make. Suddenly the enemies find themselves admitting they feel something for each other as they fight to not only find their children but try to survive the kidnappers who are also out to kill both Nate and Darcy.

But Darcy's son has also been taken and there's nothing that will keep them from bringing their children home. Unfortunately this is no ordinary adversary, and even someone like Nate, who's used to dealing with the worst of society, can't predict the enemy's next move. As the search continues, Nate finds himself admiring the woman he...
