Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal - School Library Journal
Gr 7-12-- An authoritative and interesting book. The black-and-white photographs of archival materials enhance the text; an original photograph of the exploitation of juvenile coal workers and a handwritten copy of Queen Elizabeth's recipe for scones written to General Dwight E. Eisenhower provide glimpses into the material housed in the Archives. Unfortunately, the glossary is sketchy and not at all useful, and there is no list of addresses of Records Centers located across the country. Yet readers will find the volume useful for geneological and historical adventures, and this volume will probably be one of the most popular of the ``Know Your Government'' series. --Dorothy J. Coakley, San Francisco Public Library
