Library Journal - Library Journal
An essential purchase, Jenkins's guide features glorious photographs and excellent descriptions of the very best gardens to visit in each U.S. state and some Canadian provinces. Each entry has a color-coded key that lists specific details for that particular garden (e.g., access for the handicapped, tours, whether pets are permitted, web sites, and more). I have been enjoying my copy for several years now. It lists lots of great gardens and gives pertinent information about each one such as whether or not it has a website, how many acres, what it is best known for, location, hours, telephone numbers, etc. It is very descriptive and includes high-quality photographs of most of the gardens listed. I have yet to see a better guide.
