Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

Apparently, we Americans are living in a world of our own. According to a National Geographic survey, only thirty-seven percent of young adults could locate Iraq on a map and half of them couldn't place New York State. Studies show that this trend starts early: U.S. kids score appallingly bad on tests about geographical knowledge. National Geographic Kids World Atlas qualifies as a rare brain booster in this neglected, yet increasingly vital subject. With maps, crosswords, picture puzzles, and geo-themed games, this 200 plus page paperback original presents information that youngsters eight and above need to know about our planet.

    Not a supportive thorough book

My 10 yo had to get a world atlas for his homework this school year. So far we have had to use the internet to look things up instead of this book. The glossary is poor quality. The information is not thorough and even simplistic for his age.
