Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
A bright, eye-catching format, naturalistic illustrations, and concise prose introduce readers to 52 dinosaur species, organized by size—small, big, giant, or gigantic. Distinguishing characteristics of each dinosaur (“Utahraptor had clawed feet”) appear in a large font like a headline on each spread; informative sidebars, charts that compare each dino’s size to a human, phonetic pronunciations, and lively interactive prompts (“Have you ever tried digging in dirt to find an earthworm?”) make this an especially engaging primer. A map of dinosaur fossil finds and a glossary are included. Ages 4–8. (Oct.)

    THE BEST DINO BOOK!

Everything about this book is perfect. It's has enough art, color, text, sidebars...etc. to be exciting. Yet, it's just enough to make the reader want to stay on the page. The text is also inviting, well-written, and appealing! The author shares enough facts to make the animal interesting and real, but doesn't bury the reader in tedious facts. I love the single bold statement paired with the species name at the top of the page. It makes each animal memorable and unique. (Of course, the size comparisons, sidebars, pronunciations, and captions are wonderful aspects, too.) What I find ironic is that I have learned more from this "NG Little Kids" book for young readers than all the other books about prehistoric animals I've collectd for my child because I wanted to read every page. The information the author shared is just enough for an adult like me who is new to dinos and definitely great for my young reader!

This dinosaur book is perfect in every way! My 4 year old son l

This dinosaur book is perfect in every way! My 4 year old son loves listening to it at night and recalling the facts he has learned. The text is well written and at an appropriate level for younger learners. The pictures are very appealing to all ages. I've learned a ton myself as this has become our #1 bedtime book. He picks a different section to reread each night. Great for any child dinosaur enthusiast!
