These aren't scattered throughout the record, they act as anchors to a record that wanders down its own quiet, idiosyncratic path, grounding the album and keeping things amiably unpredictable.

Lyle Lovett Lovers will love it. A moving tribute to some of the best writers of our time.

Lyle does it again with his ability and performance. His humor shines with Pantry and Choke your chicken. His tribute to the armed forces in Natural Forces is well done. After two or three listens, these tracks get into your soul. Would write more but got to go look for a whooping crane.
