He is a past president of the National Institute of Medicinal Herbalists, and author of several other books on herbal medicine, including Hypericum: The Natural Antidepressant and More and Flaxseed.

An excellent book. Given 3 stars because it is not "comprehensive." In fact, some common herbs I thought should/would be a given for a book like this are not included. And note that only about half of the herbs (half of the book) included have a full page of detail given. The other half of the herbs/book only basic info 2-4 paragraphs. Not disappointed I bought it. But if the second half of the herbs had been given the same detail this could have been the ultimate herb book.
