Dr Weil updated information on common diseases and the road that leads you there is discussed in detail and gives you solutions to these problems. Highly recommend.

Very comprehensive and open minded. I liked the level of detail in the first chapters that explained how different foods are metabolized. I found this book highly inspiring and a must to have and re-read. This book helped me solve a years-long bladder problem - Weil included written case studies of different people with the same problems than me (constant bladder infections, frequency and urgency, no pressure or dripping and sensitivity of the urinal tract). The major problem? Caffeine - even though I never drank more than one cup of coffee a day, I loved Coke and chocolate. Since I excluded caffeine (or at least greatly reduced it) I did not have any signs of a problem again. This book was written for me.

Dr. Weil approaches "Natural Health" as a well-rounded state of being instead of limiting his discussion of wellness to exercises and diets that will shed unwanted pounds. The "Natural Medicine" chapters provide alternative treatments to prescriptions and over the counter remedies.
