Fred Bubbers grew up in Elmhurst, New York where he attended Newtown High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1982 from The State University of New York at Albany, where his writing appeared in various student publications. Since then he has been employed in the software industry in various roles from software engineer to data warehouse architect to development director. His personal essays, short stories and poems have appeared in such publications as The Oregon Literary Review, The Square Table, The Green Silk Journal, Lily, Seeker Magazine, Static Movement, Word Riot, The Angler, Cantaraville, The Shine Journal, Loch Raven Review, and The Big Stupid Review.
