This is a great platform to jump into your own style of painting.

Charles Reid is very straight forward in explaining how to paint the figure and faces and does not leave anything out. Reading it cover to cover then doing the exercises was the easist for me. Only one thing was missing for me was the actual models he was painting from. I used some pictures from other books to substitute that. He is also very consistent with the other books he has written. I would recomend the DVD Charles Reid's Watercolor Secrets to compliment this book.
