THIS is how a reissue is done

VIS has outdone themselves with the presentation of this gorgeous reissuing of Hayao Mitazaki's manga masterpiece. Both hardcover volumes are sturdily made, and the Mitazaki color drawings that adorn the box and the two-sided poster are just sumptuous. The story within has already been spoken for numerous times. If you haven't already gotten the paperbacks, do yourself a favor and order this boxed set.

    The Greatest Comic Ever Created

Is this the greatest comic ever? I feel pretty confident saying so after rereading this gorgeous edition. After a lifetime of reading comics of all kinds I can't think of any other that does so many things perfectly for the medium. You get distinct and memorable characters, detailed and engrossing world building, vast themes on a grand historical scale and action that is brilliantly staged with a sense of movement that does credit to Miyazaki's status as one of the world's greatest animators.
Don't hesitate to get this edition. Both volumes include color paintings and maps. The art is also printed in a slightly darker tone than the previous seven volume edition, which I think looks a little better in terms of clarity.

Very large and very nicely done. Any Ghibli fan would enjoy such, though the contents may not be young child appropriate for some parents.
