Publishers Weekly - Publisher's Weekly
``In 11 precisely rendered stories, Hansen makes evident his breathtaking virtuosity,'' lauded PW . ``These short narratives are utterly clean and smooth; they click together like a collection of river-washed stones that are each remarkably different yet polished by the same hand.'' (Apr.)

Picked this up at our local library's monthly book sale because I grew up in Nebraska. Dark, dark, dark stuff. Killer blizzards (among the mayhem, a man murders his large family to save them from the cold), hit men, animal mutilations, another murderer. And the writing is thick, thick, thick. You've been warned; proceed at your own risk.
