I don't read historicals that often but am glad I picked this one up. Be ready for a lot of dry wit and humor. Ms. Corwin gives you a generous dose. This is an interesting mix of history, romance and mystery in which the hero finds himself knee-deep in trouble and a growing affection for a woman who thinks she has given up on men.

A must read if you love Historical Mystery/Romances!! I couldn't put it down! It kept pulling me back and I went back willingly!

this is a story where show that be Gritty and materialist is not the way top be happy. the story talk about a woman that born in a poor family of clerks, she always wanted be a high class girl. one day she went to a party and she wore a necklace that wasn't hers. she lose that necklace and her life change after that. my favorite part of this story is when she renounce to feel like a high class girl and started to work hard using his own delicate hands. i recommend this story to anyone who likes learn lesson about life.  KS
