Overview

The upcoming election is a referendum on President Bush and the choice before voters is clear - do we stay the course with our current president or is it time for a change? It should be based on a thoughtful review of the candidates' policy decisions and their visions for the future. This book discusses President Bush's major policy ...

Overview

The upcoming election is a referendum on President Bush and the choice before voters is clear - do we stay the course with our current president or is it time for a change? The decision on which candidate to vote for should not be based simply on misleading negative campaign advertising that is sure to pound the airwaves over the next few months. It should be based on a thoughtful review of the candidates' policy decisions and their visions for the future. This book discusses President Bush's major policy initiatives without being overly technical. It is an attempt to cut through the political spinning and get to the bottom line issues that affect the lives of average Americans.

George W. Bush became president with a record budget surplus and has turned it into a record budget deficit. The United States of America now has a total national debt of $7 trillion - this is a financial burden for all Americans. We are burning cash and losing American lives in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the war on terror has no definable end. President Bush will become the first president since Herbert Hoover to have more jobs lost than created during his tenure. In addition, two million more Americans will have lost their health insurance during his four years in office. Oil prices are soaring, wages are stagnant, education costs are spiraling out of control, and inflation is rising. Little leadership addressing these issues has come from the White House. To make matters even worse, Americans are losing their civil liberties as a result of the USA PATRIOT Act and other Bush administration policies. As shown in this book, there is little that is compassionate or conservative about the Bush agenda.
