    simple, but elegant ideas

I am amazed at how many simple, but usable ideas this books contains. I love shopping at Nell Hill's and I've learned so much by studying how Mary Carol mixes cherished keepsakes with everyday living.

Old Lady 'too much' bordering on Victorian

Years ago I enjoyed going into Nell Hills, but the author needs to go back to her teacher if she had one. Maybe a catalog would be in better taste. Rooms were way too crowded & fu-fu & out of date. If she wants younger people with good taste in her store, I would suggest 'less' & some new styles of accessories. The book arrangements were a nice touch, but the cake plate cluttering a sink for a soap dish?! Too cluttery. Some wall pics were nice, but between windows? Maybe she needs to go to Pottery Barn to see the new wave of decorating or get some help & keep up with the times. Didn't buy after looking the book over in the store.
