Purpose: The purpose is to present clinical problems based on known pathophysiology. This is a noteworthy objective. The book meets the authors' objectives.
Audience: The book is for those who provide care for or have working knowledge of the problems of a neonate. Thus, it is most appropriate for neonatologists and those training in neonatology. Residents in pediatrics will also gain much from this book.
Features: The book is well illustrated. The currency and pertinence of the references are excellent. The table of contents is adequate, and the overall appearance of the book is handsome.
Assessment: This is an outstanding, current, and detailed book. It is an excellent compendium of basic and clinical material. This edition, with its added sections, offers quite a bit of new information as compared with the previous edition.
