All of that changed once her father married Lynne, who wants Shelby to go to college. Lynne even forged a college application in Shelby's name. Once accepted, Shelby and her stepmother go looking for an apartment near the campus. However, Shelby doesn't want to move out. Excerpt:

“There’s no need to sneak around here.” I moved my hand up her thigh even more.

She leaned back a little, and again, she didn’t complain about my hand at all. “I’m not sure what you’re talking about.” She grinned softly, but a subtle bit of heat came into her eyes. “Are you trying to start something?”

“Well.” I rolled my eyes in an exaggerated way. “In a place like this, there’s no need to pretend or play make believe anymore.” By now, my hand was up to her hip. It had traveled the whole length of her thigh without eliciting a complaint.

“What are you getting at?”

Boy, she was playing really hard to get! “Um,” I faltered a bit. Then, I thought I’d be a little bit more forthright and just take what I wanted. “The concerned stepmother act, Lynne. You can drop it, now. You won. You’re getting rid of me. There’s no way my father is going to walk in right now, so let’s put the real cards on the table.”

“Well, then.” She leaned close to me. Her lips brushed against mine, and I could feel my stomach begin to knot up, knowing this was what I always wanted from her, more than most other things. It seemed she was being too tentative, too cautious, so I leaned in and kissed her for real. Her hands went up to my shoulders and the back of my head. She kissed me back, but she also pulled me down to the bed.

I was on top of her, in total control over the situation. Up till now, the sexual encounters I’d had with this woman had all been under some silly pretense. The arguing, the spankings – it was all a cover, and once that could be stripped all that remained consisted of two women in love with each other.
