Using the same anatomy illustrations found in NETTER'S ATLAS OF HUMAN ANATOMY, this study set contains over 300 cards that highlight muscle, bone, and joint anatomy. Each card has a full-color Netter illustration on the front and concise two-color text on the back, which details the areas of origin, insertion, action, innervation, and anatomical relevance.

    Need Improvement

If you are a notecard person, this product is for you. The drawings are straight out of the 3rd edition, but the text on the back of the cards is not. I found the diagrams and explanations to be useful, but there is too much information on the backside of the cards to target a personal difficult area (ie. innervation, origin, insertion). The cards also combine muscles and nerves instead of giving them seperate cards, which is troublesome in differentiating groupings. All in all, its a good set to give you a 'feel' of the subject matter at the beginning of each lesson or dissection or for quick review for an exam, but I suggest you study or read your text for a more thorough approach.

Not bad, but could be improved

Netter's Flash Cards may be a useful tool for some, but I find them basically a re-hash of what's in Netter's Anatomy Atlas. I get as much practice looking at the Atlas and covering up the name on the side as I do with these cards. I think this series could benefit from using other drawings by Netter or offer a different approach such as a reorganization into 'systems' (nervous, msk, etc..) that might help us to better understand anatomy.

    Outstanding Gross-Aid

If you are into notecards and are taking gross anatomy (or a similar subject) these are a must! All the time I used to spend making note-cards I could use to study more actively by using these. The cards are large, detailed (include blood supply which Mosby's don't) and numbered so you can truly practice and test your skill (outside of the lab, of course). I highly recommend these, esp. if you love Netter's (as most people do). I can't compliment them enough.
