Overview

Widely praised for its student-friendly style and exceptional artwork and pedagogy, Neuroscience: Exploring the Brain is a leading undergraduate textbook on the biology of the brain and the systems that underlie behavior. This edition provides increased coverage of taste and smell, circadian rhythms, brain development, and developmental disorders and includes new information on molecular mechanisms and functional brain imaging. Path of Discovery boxes, written by leading researchers, highlight major current discoveries. In addition, readers will be able to assess their knowledge of neuroanatomy with the Illustrated Guide to Human Neuroanatomy, which includes a perforated self-testing workbook.

This edition's robust ancillary package includes a bound-in student CD-ROM, an Instructor's Resource CD-ROM, and resources online.

"...an undergraduate neuroscience text that emphasizes the cellular foundations, sensory and motor systems, and behavioral topics covered in most neuroscience, neurobiology , and physiological psychology courses."

Editorial Reviews

Booknews
A text for science and nonscience majors in introductory neuroscience, neurobiology, and physiological psychology courses. Covers what is commonly taught to most second-year medical students, but without the prerequisites and with less clinical emphasis, comparable to an introductory college level text in general biology. Features boxes on neuroscience discoveries by the discoverers themselves, real world neuroscience applications, and discussion of advanced topics, plus chapter outlines, key terms, review questions, and a glossary. helpful

this book is outstanding!! It truly makes neuroscience as interesting as it should be. This book tries to exclude some of the more complicated medical terms, and if it uses them, it makes sure to explain them throughly. Perfect book for undergrads.
