What a great story! A longtime single woman with relationship issues starts a dating service for the "perennially single" and "romantically challenged" and is then forced to join their ranks. This is such a charming, witty, and surprisingly touching book about overcoming the fear of love. The characters are indelible and so three dimensional they seem real. But the dialogue is my favorite thing about the book. Witty, sharp, banter that made me laugh throughout. This book was just was I needed to read right now. A real "feel good" story that completely entertains. So many fun surprises I won't give away. I can't imagine anyone not loving Neurotically Yours!

Dara Harrison is an advice columnist. In fact, her “tell-it-like-it-is” approach has made her the most popular advice columnist in Los Angeles. On this reputation, she starts a new business, a dating service specifically for those unfortunate souls who have no luck with romantic endeavors. Every new business has it bumps in the road, and Dara’s is no different. Not long after launching the business, she finds herself battling a law-suit and dealing with a publicity stunt that backfired on her. She’s forced back into the dating world to prove her methods really do work. You see, Dara, the foremost authority on relationships in Los Angeles, is single. In fact, she’s more like the romantically challenged individuals who use her dating service than she’d like to admit. "Neurotically Yours" is by far one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. It’s entertaining, emotional, and realistic. This book is hard to put down. It’s bursting with laugh-out-loud moments and filled with colorful characters, from Dara who is quirky and witty, to Reggie who is the perfect down-to-earth counterpart to Dara’s quirkiness, to Jesse who is Dara’s number one fan and very eccentric neighbor, and several very interesting members of Dara’s dating service. Bonnie Trachtenberg has a gift for bringing her characters to life and making that emotional connection with the reader. She has so skillfully crafted this story that it seems more like you’re watching a movie than reading a book.

Losing a job never worked out so well. Dana Harrison lost her job as a columnist for the love lorn and decided she would use her advising talents to open a unique dating service along with her friend Reggie.
She and Reggie were having such fun, and you will have fun as well. This book was light, hilarious, and will definitely brighten up your day.
The characters are loveable, funny, talented, and perky....the kind of friends we would all love to have and the kind of person we would love to be. You will love Dara and will relate to her predicaments. Mallory the cat is loveable as well.
This is the second of Bonnie Trachtenberg's books that I have read. She is a wonderful author with great storylines.
If you need a lift, pick up this book, and you will laugh along with the characters and share in their fun and success. Somewhat predictable, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and after reading it, you may fall in love all over again. :) ENJOY!!! 4/5
This book was given to me free of charge and without compensation by the author in exchange for an honest review.

"Neurotically Yours" by Bonnie Trachtenberg reveals a relationship advice columnist who cannot seem to succeed in romance, even when using her own advice. Dara bases her own love life on experiences with a lost love and one that she rejected after years of on again off again disappointments. When she is released of her duties as a well-known advice columnist, Dara must find a new profession in order to regain her professional confidence as well as support her life style. With the help of her nontraditional friend Reggie and the support of Jesse, her flamboyant cross-dressing neighbor, Dara creates her own dating service MateSearch. While the business is fresh and full of original dating venues, it is also an easy mark for singles looking for an unethical method of gaining public notoriety. In the midst of a wayward lawsuit, Dara is entangled with the client from hell. Her attempts to avoid negative public opinion backfire when local Hollywood talk show diva Ophelia challenges Dara to play by her own rules and make the perfect match for herself. Dara convinces her last boyfriend to pose as the man in her life, until she is forced to devote more time with the man attempting to ruin her now thriving business becomes an everyday fixture; so much so that even her loyal feline friend becomes infatuated with his company.
Trachtenberg weaves a fun and compelling story that, although somewhat formulaic, provides a rare innocence for its genre. There are plenty of twists and an interesting plot that keeps the pages turning. The dialogue moved smoothly between the well developed characters. I really enjoyed Neurotically Yours. It put a smile on my face and renewed my dwindling faith in romantic chick lit.
