See ghost towns, old mine and mill workings, old railroads and stage lines along 39 offroad routes. Directions include GPS coordinates and all trails are rated for difficulty, mileage, driving time, remoteness and more. Descriptions highlight places to camp, hike, mountain bike, fish and sightsee, while fascinating histories recount the days of the Wild West. Topographic maps are included with each trail.

OK, THIS is one very cool book! Made for anyone who just wants to get out and enjoy some Nevada backroads or access the public lands for camping, hiking or any other outdoors activity... this is defitely a great concept in books. I have done 3 trails so far and we had such a good time on the suggested scenic routes, I'd rate this book an 11 OUT OF 10! The team who put this awesome book together have used TOPO maps, which really add a great graphic detail. They also write up lots of GHOST TOWNS and include PHOTOS of what they used to look like. GPS coordinates, detailed directions, and landmarks throughout the book make it fabulous. ALL COLOR, with many, many photos of the areas you travel to. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Great gift too :-) PS - I just got the newer book by the same company, called Nevada Trails Southern Region and it is equally awesome!! Can't wait to hit the road and try some of those too. Also a very attractive book with loads of photographs and topo maps.
