Moonlight can totally change your life.
And it all starts so simply.
You. Him.
The moon.
You're toast.
Okay, so maybe Shelby has made a few mistakes with boys lately (how was she supposed to know Wes had "borrowed" that Porsche?). But her stepmother totally overreacts when she catches Shelby in a post-curfew kiss with a hot senior: Suddenly Shelby's summer plans are on the shelf, and she's being packed off to brat camp. It's good-bye, prom dress; hello, hiking boots.
Things start looking up, though, when Shelby meets fellow camper (and son of a rock star) Austin Bridges III. But soon she realizes there's more to Austin than crush material—his family has a dark secret, and he wants Shelby's help guarding it. Shelby knows that she really shouldn't be getting tangled up with another bad boy . . . but who is she to turn her back on a guy in need, especially such a good-looking one? One thing's for sure: That pesky full moon is about to get her into trouble all over again.
Ok so this book wasn't very good. The author didn't give me enough time to fall in love with each character. Frankly, Shelby annoyed me. Austin was my favorite, but i still didn't feel like i knew him. The book wasn't very believable. I know that it is a fictional book, but isn't a good book one that makes you forget about the real world all around you? to me, it seems like Davis sat down to write a book, and about halfway through, lost interest. it doesn't help that right before i read this book, I was reading "Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow".

My one criticism is that I didn't like how Shelby fought so hard against her feelings for Austin throughout the book and that she was always so scared of him. I also think that there is room left for a sequel to this book. (rash on her arm....when you read it you will know what I mean). There is so much more Heather Davis can do with the story and I would defiantly be excited to continue reading the series. I recommend reading this book.

I Also Recommend:
The book is short. The story could have expanded on the characters and on the story line. The moral of the story was beautiful. I believe it can keep the reader's attention. It is a fictional story; however, it has real world issues. It brings into light the struggles that parents and teens can have in their relationships. I feel like the story ended too soon. So, I hope there is a sequel so I can find out more about the relationships within the story.

I thought it was entertaining and fast paced. I would have liked some more relationship development between the main character Shelby and her love interest Austin but I still enjoyed the story.
Sixteen-year-old Shelby has had her fair share of boy troubles recently and it is her most recent tryst that has lead to her Father and step-monster totally overreacting and banishing her to a brat camp for the summer. Luckily she at least gets to select the camp but if she screws it up she will be sent to Red Canyon-aka boot camp from hell! So Shelby is off to the artsy Camp Crescent. The level of cheesiness is off the charts at this camp but Shelby starts to overlook that when Austin Bridges appears on the scene.
Austin is cute, charming, mysterious, and the son of a rock star..who could ask for more? Shelby soon starts to realize that Austin may be hiding a secret that she never dreamed possible. Even worse is that Shelby is the only person he trusts to help him keep his secret which means Shelby's history of getting into compromising situations is far from over.
Heather Davis delivered a great debut novel. Things don't wrap up as well as the reader usually expects but that just makes it more realistic (well as realistic as a werewolf book can be). I also think that a certain scratch could leave room for a second book which I would defiantly pick up but I have not heard if there is another one planed. If anyone knows, leave me a comment with details so I can add it to my to-read list. Happy reading!

One reviewer said if you hated twilight you would hate this book, well I hated twilight but I loved this book. Now with that said this book was easy and a quick read. If you want complex characters read another book but if you want a fun sweet often laugh or groan outloud then this is the book for you. I have enough bad bummer stuff I see on tv , read online or the paper. When I read a book I just want to exscape. No heavy drama . Get this book I think you will like it.

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.Never Cry Werewolf by Heather Davis is about a teenage girl named Shelby who is the daughter of a millionaire and who's evil stepmother sends to brat camp. At Camp Crescent, Shelby meets the intriguing Austin, son of a rockstar, who tries to recruit Shelby to help him steal his medicine that helps to control the beast inside him and keeps him human. While trying to survive tortuous sing-a-longs, Shelby becomes torn between helping the boy she begins to love and staying out of trouble.
This book is an excellent addition to any library and is a book you can not put down. From a gossiping boy to ham-singing counselors, this book is an enjoyable read. I would recommend this book for Young Adults and highly suggest you read it.

If you've got a spare day or are just look for a quick way to escape the vampire hype but still stay on the mythological track, this werewolf romance gives you just the same ammount of entertainment.
It's an easy read. (it took be two hours worth of reading, on and off for me) There are much better books, but if you're jsut looking for a quick read that isn't Twilight this could be just the book. The characters are okay... you get a fair bit of background for them but somehow i still felt they were a tad-bit shallow. The plot is just what you would expect from any myth-romance, somewhat cliche but with a little bit of originality. The writing sytle is easy to understand which makes it ideal for younger kids (11-13?) which is why I blew through it so fast.
It wasn't bad, it was just fast and easy to read.
All in all, I'd give it a 3-3.5

It keeps you guessing and is a great romacne book! I loved it, it was exsiting and i would recomend it to anyone who wants to read a good romance book! good for teens! 1-10 stars i give it a 8!

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.Okay, the initial idea behind the book was...sorta original, I will give the author that. But, the wolf thing is just like most other books that are flying off the shelves these days. 'The strange, sexy kid who has a secret but needs the help of the most unexpected girl' kind of book. But, it was very good!
Shelby is shipped off to some remote, god-knows-where location because of a minor mishap in her curfew. That right there screams the works of an evil stepmother.
Soon though, Shelby meets Austin, the son of a rock star who is also attending the camp, and Shelby wants to know why. Is it drugs? Other issues? What she didn't expect is what she learns soon into their friendship.
When Shelby and Austin become quick friends, there is nothing weird going on. Until he spills the secret that he is a Lycan, and needs her help keeping the secret, and stealing back his 'serum' from the counselor of the school, or BIG SURPRISE! he'll go all furry on her butt.
I loved the way this book was written. While Shelby whined a little too much for my taste, the book was beautifully crafted and well written. So, if you like your werewolves H.O.T and your heroine's equally interesting, pick up this book.
Shelby follows her heart...and it gets her into trouble. This time she can't talk her way out of getting caught after curfew kissing a hottie. Her step-mother is insisting on sending her to summer camp.
But it's not the leisurely camp with sports or canoe rides down the river - this is brat camp. It's where the rich send their children for hard work, therapy, and to learn discipline. It's basically the worst possible way to spend your summer.
Shelby, at least, isn't going to the worst of these camps. While talking to the rest of the campers, she realizes that she's going to have to work hard at not shooting off her mouth this summer. Just when she thinks she might be able to take care of herself, a boy appears.
He's not just any boy, he's a Brit who wears a leather coat in the summer heat. In an instant, Shelby 's summer goes from bad to worse. Not only does Austin make her swoon, but he's got a secret - a deep, dark secret that would ruin his family if anyone found out the truth.
Once she recovers from the shock, Shelby does her best to help him. But will helping him land her in scalding hot water?
NEVER CRY WEREWOLF is the debut novel from Buzz Girl Heather Davis, and it's a treat. The cover first drew my attention to this book, but the story doesn't let go. The paranormal element adds to the hot summer of potential scandal, rich teens, and romance.
Moonlight changing, anmial raw meat eating...not so pretty werewolf adventure. a good fairy tale complete with wicked stepmother and a suprising twist the werewolf turned out to be not who i thought it was...curious? read the book lovelies. It is a quick read that took me the weekend. Nothing spectacular but cute.
