    Inspirational

Never Give Up, By Ron Heagy, is a true story of a high school senior traveling to California on summer break to visit a girl friend, and try and impress her with his over all macho attitude and easily obtainable skills. At the time he thought life was perfect, he had a football scholarship, a cute girlfriend, and his parents and little brother loved him. His eighteenth birthday though would be the worst birthday yet. The day before he turned eighteen he was trying to impress his girlfriend and her friend by trying to surf a big wave. He ended up in a terrible surfing accident and was a quadriplegic from that day forward. His social life as a teenager was ended right then and there. This story also tells about his life after the accident and how difficult life can be when you only have feeling in your head and neck. About how he goes on to live and the things he must do to take care of himself. Also something that really stuck with me was the fact that it is easily relatable in the small sense that being a senior in high school can sometimes be hard, and you want to impress everyone and be the top notch kid everyone dreams up. But this tragic story shows that you don't need to impress anyone if you do not impress yourself. Being true and kind to your body and mind is the most important attribute you can have. This story is so inspiring and really helps you look at your life and realize things aren't as bad as you may think. Life can be difficult but sometimes we don¿t take for granted the true beauty of what we are blessed with. Ron Heagy is still alive and is now an inspirational speaker. This book is highly recommended if you are looking for a little pick me up or just something to help you get through your life. This book is two-hundred pages and is a very fast read, but very worth it.

    Inspiring!

I can go on forever raving about this book & Ron's story.. I met Ron recently, heard his story, then read his book. I felt every emotion possible while reading it.. I do have to say that it's the most inspiring book I've ever read. Ron has inspired millions of people. Thank God he chose to share his story & help this world instead of just giving up like so many of us would have done..
