I bought this journal for my 2nd child (a girl). What I loved about it was that there were many pages to enter things that just don't fall into the "Milestones" category, but are yet important documentation of baby's first year. I kept this on my nightstand for most of my daughter's first year, and loved that I could open it up and just jot down a couple quick things about what she was going through at the time- whether it was how she was getting up 4 times (yes FOUR) a night at 6 months, or how she giggles every time she sees her big brother, or how she loves peaches, but not peas (or that she was 100x messier than her brother at mealtimes). I loved that I could capture those other moments. Did I write in it EVERY week? absolutely not. but I'm also glad that there was enough space to continue capturing those moments well into her first year. If you need the regular milestone stuff- weights and heights, first teeth, first vacation and holidays, etc- this book has that too. Now that I'm pregnant w/ baby #3, I'm still looking for the "perfect" baby book. I keep coming back to this one. I might actually have to buy this one, again.
I took my friend to pick out her baby book for her first baby. We both looked at this book and thought the illustrations were very cute. The book is unique, however, what neither of us liked is that the whole middle section is pages upon pages of weekly updates you're supposed to update about when baby is fussy, when baby eats, when baby sleeps. Honestly, no new mother has time to update every single week, every week of the first year, it is just not practical, so, there will be a lot of blank wasted pages. It takes up too much of the baby book, so, she passed on this.
