    Not just another gun book!

When I was originally approached about reviewing this book I figured that this was going to be just another book with pictures of the usual 200 guns you see in weapons encyclopedias. Fortunately that was not the case at all. Weapons of the world is not a gun book. Sure, it has guns in it, but it is more. Much more. Weapons of the World is a complete encyclopedia covering weapons of every type for the last 5000 years! Usually when I get a weapon book I flip through the pages a few times, scan the pics, read the captions, etc. This book was different though. I took a full month to read it cover to cover. They have everything in there! From spears to man-catchers to swords, guns, cannons, WMDs, puji sticks, and pretty much any other implement you can think of. Pages and pages of breakdown on each type of weapon. In the swords and edged weapons chapter you even get a complete part-by-part breakdown of a Japanese Samuri sword, descriptions of the metal working, and dozens of fantastic little factoids. I would have to give this book a hearty endorsement. If you want a weapon book that is more than just the usual, then this book is for you. Adam Celaya Editor Gunversation Online Magazine
