--Robert Webber, director and founder, The Institute for Worship Studies

Best Contemporary Worship Guide on the Market

The New Worship is the best guide for churches thinking about starting a contemporary worship or blended worship format service. An excellent guide for churches with established worship services as well, there are chapters written with ministers and musicians in mind. The chapters are biblically based and give clear and practical advice on the true meaning of worship, recommendations for worship techniques, and the importance of directing worshipers to God. The only critique I have is the suggestion that all musical styles are acceptable in worship services regardless of authorship: I would prefer the statement that all music that edifies the church or its teachings are acceptable in worship. Overall, the book is a 'must have' for all worship leaders, musicians, ministers, and churches.
