Grant Morrison brought the magic and general sense of cool that had been intoduced in the first x-men movie back during his groundbreaking, modern, yet classical approach to the x-men. This book is the one theat got me into comics, and I ate it all up.
This run is Where Cyclops started to become cool. before he had always been the boy scout, now he is bad ass leader of the x-men

Immediatley beginning his task as writer for the New X-Men, Grant Morrison begins with explosive effects. The mutant island Genosha, population 16 million is completley destroyed, Magneto's dead, Emma Frost is an X-Man and the Shi'Ar is about to destroy the Earth. The story-telling is rich in humor, action, and ironically humane for a story about mutants. For comic lovers this is a must, and for those unfamiliar with X-Men this will make you a loyal fan.
