Overview

Sixteen million mutants dead - and that was just the beginning! In one bold stroke, writer Grant Morrison propelled the X-Men into the 21st century, masterminding a challenging new direction for Marvel's mutant heroes that began with the destruction of Genosha and never let up. Regarded as the most innovative thinker of the current comic-book renaissance, Morrison proceeded to turn the mutant-hero genre on its ear. Gone were the gaudy spandex costumes - replaced by slick, black leather and an attitude to match. Collecting New X-Men (2001) #114-117 & New X-Men Annual #1.

I was not a huge fan of the illustrations an I really did not care for the storyline either. This was recommened to me at the comic book shop, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.

Great illustrations, and I'm into the storyline thus far. I chose this volume as an introduction to the X-Men comics, I'm not sure if it was the best place to jump into it but on its own I find this very entertaining.

This is by far the best that i have ever seen the X-Men portrayed. The storyline was awesome, from the moment you open the book, i gurentee that you will not be able to put it down. Its easy to understand, and its got all the best characters in it. I HIGHLY RECOMEND IT :)

This was simply an astounding piece of work that defines the Xmen. Ever since the beginning, in the 1960's, the Xmen have become convoluted with decades of continuity that did nothing for the stories except to bog them down. Now,the author of E is for Extinction brings everything about the Xmen into focus, including even altering some of the Xmen in the process (I won't go into details, so I don't ruin it for anyone, but Beast is one who is changed permanently...for the worse or for better?) I would recommend this title to ANYONE who enjoys comics as this is truly a comic anyone can get into with no strings attached. You don't need thirty years of back issues to understand it. You just need this book, and a cold drink to go with it, and you're all set.
