Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

Others might think of Paris or Milan, but the world's very first fashion week took place in New York City. That event, which was held in wartime 1943, was actually called Press Week, honoring the journalists who followed the trade. (Buyers were banned from events.) Now, renamed and larger and grander than ever, the twice-a-year New York Fashion Week is a major event, luring the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, André Leon Talley, Betsy Johnson, Richie Rich, The Blonds, and Fern Mallis, all of whom were interviewed for this spectacular coffee table celebration. With its dazzling photos, insider stories, and trend-spotting info, this hardcover pictorial is the next best thing to a full week press pass.
