Maura Jacobson's crosswords have been my favorites for 20 years. She is so clever with the long answers and the regular clues are challenging but not too hard. Now I don't have to rip them out of New York magazine, there are 100 in one place.

perfect for filling time: on the throne bus, train or airplane. Harder than the regular puzzles in the magazine. Too tempting to cheat with the answers in the back.

I bought this book of puzzles to help keep my mind a bit more alert since I've retired, and it's serving the purpose well. I used to work Maura Jacobson's puzzles years ago and I enjoyed them because they were challenging enough to make me work but not so difficult as to be discouraging. I find that still to be true. The themes are interesting and it's just a fun, amusing activity.
