Overview

Declaration of love to a city.

In the summer of 2001, when Torsten Andreas Hoffmann was looking at new photos he had taken for his large format New York calendar published by Weingarten, he came to the conclusion that there was an over-representation of the World Trade Center.

The attack of September 11 then touched him more deeply than any other event he had experienced through the media. He felt compelled to photograph New York again from all the same angles without the twin towers and to compare them to his photos from the summer of 2001. His work is not sensationalized; it is a quiet declaration of his love for New York and its inhabitants, who, of all Americans have demanded revenge the least and who stand united now more than ever in their love for their city.

Editorial Reviews

Die Welt
Leiser Nachruf auf New York

Etwas fehlt.

Ein wirkliches Kunststück also.
