Editorial Reviews

Weekly Editors Entertainment
Young street punks with slicked-back hair and dangling cigarettes scowl defiantly at their arraignments; shackled murderers slump near the corpses of their victims. Even though these photographs—printed by the famous New York tabloid from the '20's through the '50's—are rendered in crisp black and white, the blood spattering them is all too vivid.

This book is like nothing I have ever seen. I have worked in photojournalism and for photo agencies for years and never come upon material like this. I was so engrossed by this book that I read it straight through spending time with each picture and each story. I cannot recommend this book enough, enjoy!

These photos are as stunning as they are entertaining. And grisly. They're darn grisly! But gruesome and grisly and entertaining is cutting edge stuff today. That would be, like, Tuesday. There is a dark side in the affairs of men. And the book of days. What a day, simply stunning! Hey, whadda book!
