Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Kristen Kelley
Did you know that the Statue of Liberty is 305 feet tall? That the Empire State Building is struck by lightning as many as 500 times per year? That Central Park has more than 500,000 trees and shrubs? Or that Macy's was the first department store to have an in-store Santa Claus at Christmastime? These and other facts are included in a 3D book that folds out into cityscape of New York City. The book includes cutouts of the city's most recognizable landmarks such as the Brooklyn Bridge, Grand Central Terminal, Times Square, and the Guggenheim Museum. The book is advertised as a "cut-paper, accordion fold novelty for ages 5 plus," but I think it would be difficult for a five year-old to keep the book in good condition (I bent it a little while writing this review). It also includes a few advanced words such as "mooring" and "zeppelins." A unique keepsake, but not very practical for young children. Reviewer: Kristen Kelley
