Well, I am a crossword addict - and although I live in London, I enjoy doing US crosswords, which give an extra dimension to the questions, although it also creates problems for me - eg I'm not up on US television series, baseball etc. This huge book will keep me happily occupied for the next year or so - that said, it's an "extra" to my regular daily crosswords, which start with the NY Times yearly book first thing in the mornings, with my early morning cup of tea: and later with The London Times crossword with lunch. Well, I did say I'm a crossword addict! I think it's a fairly acceptable addiction, though. And if it addles my brain, I manage to swim most days, which clears my psyche very efficiently - ready for the next puzzle!

I get giddy at the prospect of having endless puzzles to do, but this book is huge, heavy and cumbersome. In addition, the puzzles are small format (duh, they have to fit 1,001 puzzles into the same book). I find myself wanting to rip it into smaller sections. So, that's my only complaint - nothing to do with content. I have no doubt the puzzles are as wonderful and engaging as ever.
