Hilarious-and sound-advice on surviving 40 weeks without a drop!

When you find out you're pregnant, you've officially crossed the line from "Drinking for One" to "Eating for Two." Yes, the prospect of 40 long, long weeks without a single cocktail is enough to strike dread into the heart and fear into the belly of even the most moderate of drinkers.

The Newly Non-Drinking Girl's Guide to Pregnancy is a hilarious and honest look at how to survive pregnancy without alcohol. From practical information on alcohol and pregnancy to fun advice on surviving birthdays, bachelorettes and barbecues sans cocktails and finding sobriety support at home, this is the perfect book for any party girl who finds herself pregnant.

By including 50 fun recipes for mocktails to complete every month along the way, authors Jackie Rose and Dr. Caroline Angel give newly pregnant women insight into how to survive-if not thrive-while going the full 40 without alcohol.

From Drinking for One to Eating for Two

There was so much support for the idea of this book that it gave me a jump start to getting it going.

Jackie Rose, you are my hero! Thanks for making this idea a reality-you made my dream come true! Many thanks to Marcy Posner for selling the idea and closing the deal. And many thanks to Bethany Brown, Shana Drehs, and the entire staff of Sourcebooks for your hard work and commitment to guiding our best foot forward.

I would like to thank our guest mixologists and the sources who brought them to us: Anna Getty from purestyleliving.com and her manager, Alisa Donner Hamad (Amrita) of Delight Full, Inc; Gregg Horan from Luxbar and Gibsons Restaurant in Chicago and Stephen Lombardo; and Terry Kranz from Abacus Restaurant and Ariana Hajibashi-Martin of McCrory & Associates. I would also like to thank Jennifer Stieve from the Minnesota Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and Anne Wilson from the NJ Coalition for Prevention of Developmental Disabilities for contributing recipes from their Pregnant Pause campaigns.
Thanks to my friends and family for all your love, support, encouragement, and guidance.

Thanks, also, to my children-my daughter, Catherine, the inspiration behind this wacky idea, and Joshua.

And finally, thank you to my loving and supportive husband, Steve.
