    Thank you for using NewsAce

    Hi there, NewsAce dev speaking,

Thank you for using NewsAce guys! Regarding the complaint concerning the requirement of Google credentials, I’d like to clarify that we NEVER STORE or use your account info for any purpose other than logging you into Google Reader. We only ask for your Google login and password because the app utilizes Google Reader feed management and search features.

If you are still concerned about releasing your Google credentials, our next update will allow you to use NewsAce without having to log into Google Reader. This will still allow you access to our list of recommended feeds, and you can manage your own custom feed selections.

Why do you reqire my google account info??

Truly I'm so tired of apps trying to make you sign in to your other software and web accounts. I don't know you, so why in the world would I give you my gmail ID & Password via your own form box and not gmail's???

I sure hope others aren't stupid enough to trust all apps like that!!

Obviously an application that is meant to help you read your Google Reader feeds is going to require your Google credentials. This is one of the best (UI) apps in the nook market for watching video content in the Nook market so I would suggest checking out the actual application before giving it a 1 star rating.

Once you've logged into to NewsAce, you can easily organize all your Google Reader feeds and quickly skim through all your content in either the main view (see each feed) or the post view (read each article). The cool thing about this app is that there is a huge list of recommended channels which are good for finding new feeds.

App works fine for free version!

I have been using this app for few minutes, and it seems to run fine. (Nook Color) I am able to make the font LARGE, which is something I love. (You tap on the icon that looks like a starburst) My only complaint is that there is nothing that would show access to anything Christian; or news such as Fox. I would love to see a more balanced news selection and other information. Not everyone is a CNN type of follower. I would like the ability to have those choices. I opened this app without logging into Google Gmail, perhaps that would make some difference in what news or information would be available. I will leave my name here as I stand by my words. I do not post anonymously. Cheryl Togashi

    Crashed!

I was led to believe it would actually interface with my GoogleReader account and was very excited. Sadly all this app did was repeatedly crash my Nook. It was unuseable until I was finally able to archive it.

I find this good for reading the headlines but I must be doing something wrong as the articles take forever and ever to load. I end up not being able to not read the full article. For headlines I am finding this fine but not for indepth. Maybe I am just not sure how to work the app properly.

    Crashes constantly

This seems to work fine on the Nook Color, however, it appears to have issues running on Nook Tablet. Very unstable.

    Good while it lasted

This was one of the best apps for checking my podcast feeds, easy to use, and quick to access. However, now that Google is getting rid of their reader come July, it is going to be useless for me since there is no way to manually add my feeds or to even search for them unless I'm logged in to Google's reader. The dev's need to have that fixed before then otherwise, it'll just be wasting space on my nook.

Absolutely useless. There's no way to add rss feeds for the blogs and sites I follow (unlike every other feedreader I've ever used). The only feeds I can get are those offered through this app and there only 2 of the 2-3 dozen feeds I follow in my feedreaders on other devices that are offered. (As far as importing from Google Reader, Google's getting rid of reader July 1st, so that's useless too.)
