Meet the Author

Harry Newton has 37 years studying, writing, lecturing and investing in telecommunications and information technologies. Newton, who is not an engineer, wrote this dictionary in non-technical business language. He believes (perhaps naively) that anyone in business should be able to understand complex technical terms. So of his definitions are short. Some are long. His goal is to explain what the technology means, what it does, what its benefits are and what its pitfalls are. As a result, corporations routinely issue this dictionary to new employees to bring them quickly up the technology learning curve.

    Great Reference Book

    I was asked to develop training for new hires in the complex telecommunications world - this book was my Bible and the go to for all terms technical - the author has a unique take on the industry and provides some unexpected humor in his definitions and the occasional personal reference that is fun to come across while you are desperately hoping Newton will bail you out one more time with technical verbiage made accessible.

    The Best Telecommunication Dictionary!!!!!!

    This book can be used at any level of expertise. I was introduced to Newton's Telecom Dictionary seven years ago. Everytime there is a new edition, I have purchased a copy. I recommend this book for college students and those who are working in the telecommunications, computer, or electronics field.
