    A Nice Girl's Recommendation

I initially started this book expecting it to be an interesting and provocative read but with little expectation that I would be able to identify with it. I was quickly surprised to find myself relating to many of the descriptions of what constitutes a "nice girl" and the sexual hang-ups associated with that mindset. Many things that Dr. Neustifter discussed resonated with me on a personal level and it set me at ease to discover that my thoughts, actions, and feelings were not unique and therefore it may actually be possible to overcome the obstacles that prevented me from verbally expressing whatever sexual thoughts I was having mentally.

What sets this book apart is the inclusion of exercises and a summary of key points at the end of each chapter. A person can read this book as a source of information, or, should they choose to, a workbook to help think outside the box and put the tips into practice. Since not everyone is easily able to jump into the practice of comfortably talking dirty, the Nice Girl's Guide eases into the process by taking time to discuss the foundations of talking dirty such as building confidence and the importance of honesty, intimacy, and communication with your partner. The actual act of talking dirty isn't covered until later in the book after the foundations for its successful execution have been thoroughly discussed. By the time the reader gets there it feels more comfortable to experiment with dialogue, fantasies, etc.

I am very thankful for this book; I feel like I read it at a critical time in my life and at times that it was written exclusively for me. I recommend this book to every nice girl who is looking to discover the nuances and facets of dirty talk while understanding that doing so in no way compromises the things that make her "nice." Talking dirty not only gives nice girls a personal sense of accomplishment but will undoubtedly enhance their interactions with a partner.
