Overview

Sexy, funny, and dark--this is the story of a nice girl who discovers that murder is the only way out of a dead-end relationship. But one man knows exactly what she's up to because he's exactly like Grace. He's a killer himself.

The cult favorite that was nominated for an Edgar Award for Best First Novel is back in a special 15th Anniversary Edition.

...First there was Clay--it just sort of happened.
Then there was Pete--he was becoming way too attached.
Ben, well, he totally had it coming.
And then there was Sam...

Grace is nice to a fault. She never picks fights, and doesn't like to criticize or hurt people's feelings. Problem is, the men in her life never seem to take a hint. And she just can't bear to tell them outright when she isn't interested. So she kills them. A clean break--no messy emotions, no heated arguments. But someone is onto her. His name is Sam, and he and Grace, with one very dangerous thing in common, make a killer couple. It's a match made in heaven--as long as they can both survive the relationship...

Editorial Reviews

crankythoughts.com - Mrs. Giggles
I really, really love this one. Nice fulfills my craving for a non-saccharine, noirish, twisted romance, one that I never know I have until I watch Martin Blank in Grosse Pointe Blank telling his sweetheart Debbie, "Debbie, I know we can make this work" - bang! as he fires into a villain at the floor - "I have given it a lot of thought" - bang! - "Will you marry me?" - bang!
Twisted? Sick? Ah, but Nice is so good, funny, and romantic too, I wouldn't have it any other way.

This book is so fun. What if the standard too-nice chick-lit heroine snapped and started killing people? Find out in NICE by Jen Sacks.
Book--The Magazine for Reading Life - Nan Goldberg
In this fiendishly black comedy, Grace keeps finding herself in the same predicament. And it's really bothering her... A hilarious satire ... particularly in the realm of male-female relations, Nice is reminiscent of the movie Heathers in its droll reversal of moral standards. Read it, and keep an eye on its author--she's dangerously funny.
Janet Evanovich
Fresh, darkly comic, and completely engaging.
