The photos and project ideas are great but I was very disappoint

The photos and project ideas are great but I was very disappointed with this book.  First, the most popular 18 inch doll would be the American Girl Doll.  Nicky Epstein designed the patterns to fit an Alexander doll which is smaller in both the hips and shoulders.  There are a couple of women in my knitting group who purchased the book and are knitting outfits.  Some of the clothes DO NOT fit the American Girl Doll.

As well, we've tried a few patterns - so far.  And have discovered errors.  The publisher posted some of the corrections, but I sent an email about another error I discovered.  The attitude of the publisher is "here's the correction.  Oh well".  No apology for the inconvenience.  Who knows how many other errors we'll discover as we work through the book.  If you look at this publisher's corrections page it is an eye opener.  They publish knitting patterns without checking them properly and end up posting numerous corrections.

    loved the patterns..and selection...

The choice of yarn is available. The designs are lovely, and I will be
making several of them for my Grandchildren. The material in the book is well researched. And explained. The yarn selection helps. I also liked the added touch of Chocolate Fairy Drops, and the Queen's Ball Cookies...

I am very disappointed in this book. I am crocheting clothes for my granddaughter's American Girl dolls, and none of these outfits even come close to fitting. I have had to make significant adjustments in hook size, numbers of rows and reps, etc. What is usually an enjoyable experience has been one of frustration. Not keeping this one in my crochet library.
