Editorial Reviews

Dick Stanley
I bought my son a copy of the paperback. This is his review:
Night Camp' was an overall very enjoyable book. It had its down points but its up points outnumbered them. It was a fast-paced, quick read that always kept me on the edge of my seat. At the start of the book I was intrigued by the odd premises. I felt like I was in the main character's shoes with the good descriptions, and a feeling of knowing the settings.

"At the end the story turned out to be more of a light-hearted s

Night Camp is a fun, YA book that people of all age can enjoy. It's the story of Shane, a boy who attempts to rebel against his parents annual practice of dumping at summer camp while they go on vacation by choosing the most offbeat, awful camp he can find. But what Shane and his cousin Brad discover when they arrive is that there is a terrifying reason why Night Camp is literally held at night.

My son and I just finished reading "Night Camp." This book really held my son's interest. What more could you ask for - spooky castles, caves, mysterious camp counselors, cute girls, dungeons, bats, and adventure.

I asked my son to provide his own review of the book. Here are his insights:

So good the kid stole it out of my bag for a second read. This is an excellent book. A dear friend was kind enough to let me borrow it before a 4 day weekend taking care of 2 kids (8 and 11). We spent hours each night reading "Night Camp". I've never seen these kids sit still. I don't know that I even ever sit that still. I loved Goosebumps books as a kid, and this book has blown all of those out of water. It is definitely not too scary, but it's also captivating enough to hold our interest.

A fun ride through Night Camp. Incredible, fantastic fun. This story is great for pre-teen and teenagers but at my ripe age of 55 I enjoyed it as much as the kids I read it too. Exciting, scary and intriguing walk through a dark castle, late night hikes guided by possible vampires... this story is a page turner and perfect for any age.
