THEIR LOVE IS DESTINED TO RISE AGAIN

Ailish Donovan is a witch ready to do battle. Raised unaware of her powers, she is just sixteen when her mother tricks her into binding with the demon Asmodeus. Pure-hearted Ailish escapes with the connection incomplete but pays a heavy price: For the next eight years, she is shunned by her earth sisters and tormented by Asmodeus’s lust. After hardening her body and mind as a champion kickboxer, Ailish returns home to break the bond—or die.

The Wing Slayer Hunter Phoenix Torq is sworn to protect earth witches, but he is shaken by Ailish’s fierce independence—and his own forbidden cravings. Dark, impulsive, and haunted by his troubled past, Phoenix likewise arouses Ailish in ways she finds disturbing—and irresistible. Torn between mistrust and desire, each must go to hell and back to seek the magic that could set them both free.

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Lyon continues the Wing Slayers series (Blood Magic, Soul Magic) with a strong installment sure to please returning readers. Ailish Donovan was tricked by her mother, Maeve, into being handfasted with a demon at age 16. Shunned by Circle Witches because of the "witch karma" that left her blind, Ailish channeled her anger into a kickboxing career. Two weeks before her 24th birthday, when she must complete the bonding, Ailish plans to break the handfast or die. Phoenix Torq, one of the Wing Slayer Hunters, might be able to help, but he can't decide whether Ailish is good or evil. Meanwhile, Maeve and the demon Asmodeus resort to trickery, threats, and violence. Lyon peppers the love story with teasing humor and strong sexuality, though the beautiful imagery sometimes edges into purple territory. New readers face only a short learning curve and will finish the book enthused. (Apr.)

‘Night Magic’ raised the stakes of the Wing Slayer n

‘Night Magic’ raised the stakes of the Wing Slayer novels. I have loved both of the previous novels in this series but this one truly blew me away. I mean her sexy witch hunters will keep your pulse racing and make your keep turning the page in any book but this couple was intense, and the story that went along with them was unlike anything I have ever read before.

I have yet again been brought to tears and not been able to put the book down, thanks to the brilliance that Jennifer puts into words in these novels. I am absolutely in love and obsessed with these books and their delicious characters, as soon as I finish writing this review I am going to start the fourth book in fact.

If you think you have the way the couples go figured out than this book will blindside you, trust me. Ailish Donovan is a blind witch who has trained to be a great boxer due to the fact that she has been tricked into a handfast with the demon Asmodeus. All Ailish ever wanted to do was good and be an earth with and help people. Will our hero Phoenix be able to save her or will she give into the demon and become a demon witch?

There was so much depth to this plot, so many twists and turns that it was such an amazing rollercoaster ride. I was rooting for Ailish and Phoenix throughout the whole book but you really have no idea what truly in store for these two. This one had me completely guessing until the very end and had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

The Wing Slayer hunters and their witches have truly become some of my favorite characters and I would highly recommend this sexy, action-packed, paranormal romance to anyone looking for a good book to sink their teeth into. A big five stars for sure.

    I Also Recommend:

    Best yet!

The first book in this series was just ok for me but they keep getting better. This one is definitely the best so far. Quite unexpected...I read paranormal/sci-fi romance/urban fantasy but this was the different than anything I have read in the past. Kept me wanting to know more, turning the pages. I will read the next one.

My Favorite of the Series so Far!

This author has a true gift for writing guys. Their dialogue, their thoughts - they way they communicate with the women in their lives. I find it irresistible. But all of that aside, the book in question, NIGHT MAGIC is probably my favorite book of the Wing Slayer series. I instantly felt for the character of Ailish, blind and set in an impossible situation - and jeez, put their by her mother. That really killed me. Ailish knows she's pretty much done for in her life, then she meets Phoenix. All the Slayers are really hot and fierce, but there's something about Phoenix - maybe it's the motorcycle... maybe it's just the old fashioned sex appeal of sacrifice. But whatever it is, I fell for it big time. Great book - fave of the series!

    A great romantic urban fantasy

When she was sixteen years old, her evil mother Maeve the witch tricked Ailish Donovan into hand fasting with Asmodeus the demon. Over the next eight years, Asmodeus sends her sexual dreams to bring her to his side. Ailish fights them using Earth Witch magic, but she understands the day of reckoning is soon as on her twenty-fourth birthday, she either has rid herself of the eight year old demonic mark or she will die. Although she would prefer to live, death brings two rewards as she would no longer be tied to the demon and her mother and her malevolent coven will be dead too.

Phoenix Torq is a hunter serving the Wing Slayer by killing rogues who allow the blood lust to take over them as they heed a demon's call to slaughter the Earth Witches. However, the worst that could happen occurs when he becomes soul bond to the blind kick boxer Ailish. He knows if she gives in to Asmodeus, he will go rogue; if she dies, he dies. Fourteen days and he don't know what to do as his instincts is always to save the female, especially this one, but how.

The third Wing Slayers series (see Blood Magic and Soul Magic) is a great romantic urban fantasy that uses well-placed humor to brighten the dark Lyon mythos. The story line is fast-paced as the final countdown begins; fate tosses a curve ball at the heroine prepared to die when she meets her soul bond. Readers will appreciate this powerful thriller as Phoenix and Ailish magically conjure up in the minds of the audience the wry comment in A Tale of two Cities by Dickens: "Tis a far far better thing I do than I have ever done before.".
