Overview

This special edition of Night Marchers was professionally edited in September 2012. It includes newly edited scenes, a special Kai P.O.V., the first chapter of the sequel: Redemption, the first chapter of the first book in our new apocalyptic series: Project ELE and more!

This new Young Adult paranormal series will have you averting your eyes for years to come!

NEVER, EVER lock eyes with a Night Marcher! Everyone in Hawaii has heard this warning, except for seventeen-year-old Emma Townsend that is. For most Hawaiians know that looking into the eyes of Night Marcher can strike a curse that will end in death or eternal servitude.

Even though her father, who is a paranormal investigator, solely raised Emma, she has little experience in the realm of the supernatural. When she is forced to move with her father to Hawaii, only months before her graduation, Emma finds that her world as she knows it, is shaken when she starts seeing the unexplainable: fire balls in the distance, beating drums in the middle of nowhere and strangers who vanish into thin air. Then one day when she has a run in with a procession of Night Marchers, ancient Hawaiian spirits wandering from their burial grounds to their locations of battles past, Emma has no choice but to believe that the unbelievable does exist.

Now Emma must go on the run with the help of a mysterious stranger, as they seek out how to free Emma from the curse of a Night Marcher, who will stop at nothing to get her soul.

*We hope you enjoy this new edition of our free book which has had more than 60,000 downloads since February 2012.

Praises for Night Marchers:
"I read books but this one took me on a wild roller coaster ride of emotions. It is a hard book to put down. Be prepared to be up late reading! Can't wait to read the next book!" ~Marella4
"The story is original, thrilling, includes several twists in the romance department, and in the supernatural content as well."
~Sally
"I am always interested in things based in some kind of paranormal "truth" and this story didn't fail to impress with the authors obviously having taken a great deal of time to do their research. By the time I got to the end I could not wait to pick up the second one and see where the story went."

Sadly, I was not able to finish this novel. I realize that this e-book has high ratings. I do not mean any offense to the writer(s) and don't want to stir any drama, but this is my honest opinion of the book.

I really liked the story. Actually, I loved the story. I liked that it was different than anything else out there in the extremely popular YA genre. The problem had actually nothing to do with the story, though. I had a huge problem continuing the novel because of the many grammar and spelling mistakes I found, not to mention the constant switch between the past tense and present tense.

Now I realize that this e-book was a freebie and that it was self-published (maybe) and that writing a book is a huge feat. I myself have written two books and it's hard as hell! They may not be published or super popular but it takes a lot of work to finish a novel, period. The most dreaded part about writing is the editing, in my opinion. And to be quite frank, this book desperately needs an editor. There were simple mistakes that distracted me from the overall store, such as spelling errors and the constant change between past and present. This drove me crazy because I wanted to continue reading the book but I was unable to ignore it any longer. No one is perfect and I understand that mistakes are inevitable, especially in writing, but this was a little too much for me to ignore.

Unfortunately, another thing that really put me off about the book was the whole deal with the 'purity myth' that the main character, Emma, has subscribed to. I have no problem with girls who want to abstain from sex. My main issue is with girls who have fathers who buy them purity rings at the mere age of thirteen. That is creepy and unfair. As a feminist, I am deeply against fathers brainwashing their daughters with the purity myth. It's extremely patriarchal and reflects sexist beliefs. This may be a work of fiction, but it's intended toward the young adult audience. I myself am 22 years old, but it still bothered me when I read the part where Emma explained why she was saving herself for marriage. It felt like she was only 'saving herself' for her God and father. What about herself? Perhaps the author(s) and I differ in this opinion, but it just rubbed me the wrong way. Perhaps I am biased after reading The Purity Myth by Jessica Valenti. Who knows.

Once again, I mean no harm against the writer(s). I think their story is brilliant and I would have loved to finish it. I was just too distracted by the flip between past and present and the grammar mistakes.

This book was amazing! I could not put it down. In a way I understand were Emma was coming from when she was being moved away from her BFI! I have moved from mine so many times that I am so grateful that we stayed in touch. Funny thing is I live in Texas like Emma did lol so I could relate on some level, not that I have moved out of state just towns over. When Emma moved to Hawaii, I was just like wow, how nice would that be. The way the authors described it in a way I felt as though I was there. Now I am torn between Tristian and Kai. Tristian is one of those guys that you could fall in love with and is a gentleman who cares about a girl/woman's heart. Now Kai on the other hand is a protector and seems to be caring.
This book is about how a young teenager and her father lose their mother when Emma was really young. They get on with their lives. When Emma's father gets a job offer in Hawaii Emma is very upset since she is 4 months away from graduating and she will be leaving her BFI. She adjust to the move when she meets Tristian, and he shows her the beautiful beach and surfing. He is a gentleman in every way and he cares for Emma. One day when Tristian has to leave she goes out by herself and falls asleep, when she wakes it is night time. And she has been told to not be out by herself at night. Then she comes across Kai who tries to protect her but she looks into the eye of a Night Marcher who tries to hunt her down. It is a curse that has been placed on her. Kai will stop at nothing to protect her since he has fallen in love with her.

I will leave it there since it is such an amazing book to read. Hope I didn't give too much away. :D

    Summary!

The book itself was fine, the main protagonist had okay personalities that were a key factor in the book. But I do have to warn you it's verrrrrrry boring in the beginning of the book, so boring that I almost stopped reading. The conflict arises around half way through the book and it showed some signs of conflict in the beginning. The other character's other than the protagonist in the story are flat and lifeless. I expected more. Example: When Triston tells the protagnist that he had daughter but had to give her away i expected more emotion but all I got were a few tear that were immediatly wiped away. I mean come on...you lost your baby cry a little bit more!!! Apart from that the romance in the book was a little on the boring side. While she was th Triston I couldn't see the romance at all. I mean I get that she was all for no sex before marriage but the kissing was just a couple small pecks on the lips, nothing more! The conflict was okay but I thought it could have been better. Five stars because it was free that's it.

This is a book where I wanted to read more. It takes a different path than most paranormal/preternatural books. I likes the premise and the plot.

I really did end up liking this book a lot, so just bear with me

    I really did end up liking this book a lot, so just bear with me here. ;
) I'm not sure what it was, because there was quite a bit going on,
but the story seemed to start off a little slow for me, or maybe it just
took me a little while to get into it? I can't really say which as I
dont really know myself. Emma's character meets the boy next door or
the boy in the guest house I guess you could say and everything seems
rosy for her. I really liked Tristan as a person but somehow his
relationship with Emma just didn't do it for me. He had major baggage
and ends up taking off, I wont spoil the what or why here, but his
feelings for Emma come on way too strong way too fast. Then the story
takes a turn when Emma is swept into the world of the Night Marchers and
a mysterious boy, Kai, becomes her protector. She finds a connection
with Kai that is so strong and unbelievable, but she is confused about
her own feelings. Add to this Kai's evil twin brother wanting her soul,
and you have a recipe for disaster. I'm definitely team Kai in this one.
The last 1/3rd of this story really did it for me. Huge cliffhanger,
lots of action, romance (hesitant on Emma's part, but its there and more
believable to me) and I can't wait to see what happens. I already have
book #2 and am ready to get into it!

Great read, really enjoyed! I rated a 4 because of the ending. For me, it was too much of a cliff hanger! Ended to abruptly, even if a sequel is planned, honestly that is the only negative feedback. Otherwise, an amazing book, suspense, love story, mystery, and found myself having a difficult time putting it down. Few grammatical errors, however was not distracting. Highly reccommend!

    A must read!!

Emma, a 17 year old who misses her mom, has to move from Texas to Hawaii because her father wss offered an amazing job he couldnt say no to. Once there, she never expected to have such strong feelings for Tristan. Life was perfect for her until she found out Tristan had to leave for training. One day, Emma went to her abd Tristans spot only to accidentally fall asleep; waking just before dark. People had warned her to never be alone outside at dark, so she hurried to leave. Thats when her path crossed Kai's, the man dhe feels a mysterious connection to, and things started taking a turn for the worst. She and Kai escaped the Shadow Walkers, only to discover they wont stop searching for her until they have her soul. Determined to put an end to this once and for all, she sneaks out to go kill the Shadow Walkers chief. She never expected that attacking him the way she did wouldnt kill him, or that Kai would sacrafice himself so she could live. This book definitely draws you in, leaving you hanging, wondering what happens next. I guess its good there is a book #2, because if not, id definitely be upset. I cant wait to see what happens to Emma, and if she saves Kai. And if she does, will she pick Tristan or Kai? I HIGHLY recommend this book. You will not be disappointed. :)

Really enjoyed this book. I am an avid reader and enjoy some books more than others. Since I liked this book so much, I thought it deserved my first rate and review I ever posted. This was a wonderful and exciting book, I would definitely reccomend to others who love sci-fy fantasy genre. Thought the ending was great, left me curious as to what would happen next. I like that it is longer than a 100 pages so it is a longer read to really get into. For a free book it is a good amount of pages. I was expecting like a 100 pages but I got more! Yipey!!
