    Anthony at Xanths best

With Mare Imbrium on the road to save Xanth from catastrophy, we see the possibility of a truly noble spirit coming to her own.
Repleat with wit, character, and all the fiendish puns any true Xanth fan loves.

Naive, witty, deviously clever, action-packed, tender, sweet. These words and more percolated through my mind as I read this novel. To be sure, I was rewarded again as I had been during my first foray through Xanth, and as I have no doubt I will be again and again.

    Pun-Tastic

What can I say, I'm a Piers Anthony fan. Love the Xanth stories and all puns. He never ceases to amaze me while maintaining continuity with the rest of the series.

Love the story, hate the typos

I first read the Xanth series when they were finally in paperback. I LOVED them & still do. My only problem with this book (in ebook format) is the typos. Several words had the first letter incorrect (bad instead of had) which made me have to reread some sentences until i caught on! It wouldnt have been a big deal, but it is peppered throughout the ENTIRE book.

    Thrilling

A story about Imbra, a horse born to give people nightmares. Only problem is Imbra has a soul and wants to help people instead! Thrilling from beginning to end. Lots of action and suspense. I reccommend it to anyone who likes action and adventure books.

    A great book

This was a great book, even though im not fond of animals as the main character. This is actually the only book with a "mundane" creature as a main character ive ever read. The only thing that bothered me was that it was soooo obvious that the day horse was the horseman, i wanted to scream to them that he was the traitor, but that also made the book good, in some sense anyway.

    Great new character

Here we are introduced to Imbrium a night mare and her sire, The Night Stallion. Imbri was a night mare, a bringer of bad dreams who seems to have lost here edge after acquiring half of a soul. The Night Stallion retires her from dream duty and sends her on a mission, a mission which would save Xanth.

    best one yet!

I think that Piers Anthony did a magnificent job on this book because i wouldn't have ever guessed the outcome! He brilliantly placed everything, explained alot of confusion, and introduced a very important character: Mare Imbrium.

    Fantastic!!!!

The best book I've ever read. Night Mare Imbrium's attempts to save Xanth are clever and well written. The entire book is like a puzzle- it all fits together in the end.

    The Best One Yet!

I am a devoted Piers Anthony fan, and I think that this is his best Xanth book yet. The story is extremely suspenseful, and although the main character of the book is not one of the major Xanth characters, the book is extremely fun and absorbing.

picked it up----it was done in a day

My absolute favorite in this series. Imbri has an interestingly deep personality, an itricate adventure, and a entertaining way of getting into mischief.A great book to start Xanth with.

The Best Xanth Novel I've Read Yet!

I just read this book 3 days ago, and it kicked serious butt! The nextwave of Mundanes are invading, and the Dark Stallion has asked Mare Imbrium to warn King Trent with the message, 'Beware the Horseman.' Then Imbri met the horseman, and realized that his name meant that he was the master of horses. But when she went to tell the King, his mind had been lost! Now the Mundanes are getting closer to Castle Roogna and the Kings are suffering the same fate at an all too rapid rate! The only other clue Imbri has is from the Good Magician Humpfrey, 'Break the Chain.' But will Imbri figure it out before it's too late? I personally felt that this was the best Xanth novel of all; it was so good that I finished it in 2 days! A must-read for newcomers and Xanth veterans alike!
