Good disc. "night moves" & "main street" are the best songs here. .... not as good as "against the wind" disc.

night moves catapults seger from cult figure to maimstream mega star over the next 5 years every thing he touched turned to gold and it was long overdue ,and he deserved it from the opening track rock and roll never forgets,he means buisness full of high energy rockers and great ballads, mainstreet and nightmoves this is segers best album and anyone interest in great music should burn there green day cds after listening to this

Bob Seger recorded the bulk of Night Moves before Live Bullet brought him his first genuine success, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that it's similar in spirit to the introspective Beautiful Loser, even if it rocks harder and longer. Throughout much of the album, he's coming to grips with being on the other side of 30 and still rocking. He floats back in time, turning in high-school memories, remembering when wandering down "Mainstreet" was the highlight of an evening, covering a rockabilly favorite in "Mary Lou."
